Honors American History

Considerations:  Prefer teacher recommendation. Students must also be enrolled in Honors English 9.  There will be more reading and writing in Honors American History.  This is a full year course broken into 2 semesters.

Course Description: American History, American beginnings to present - focuses on the people, ideas, and events that have helped create the nation and the world we live in today. Students are introduced to several big questions that guide their exploration of the growth and development of America. They are asked to develop and defend their own answers to these questions. Students are required to examine why events happened as they did, and explain how our past is related to our present.
