Algebra I

Course Description:Algebra I is designed to give students a foundation for all future mathematics courses.  Credit may be earned on a semester basis. Two semesters of credit are necessary for admission to many colleges. Topics include one- and two-variable statistics; linear equations, inequalities, and systems of equations; linear functions, exponential functions and quadratic functions; as well as quadratic equations including factoring. Algebra I is the first course in the college pathway and is a prerequisite to Geometry and Algebra II.
