At Boone Community Schools we prioritize providing students with quality academic experiences that fit their needs and match their goals. However, sometimes students change their minds or a class ends up not being what a student wanted. In these cases, a student may drop a class. Below are the parameters for dropping a class a BHS.
Time | Options | Grade on Transcript |
First two weeks of the semester | The class will be dropped and a new course will be added | No impact on transcript. Dropped class is removed |
After the first two weeks | The class will be dropped and the student will receive a "W" on the transcript for "Withdrawal" | "W" on the transcript |
After Mid-term of semester | The class will be dropped and the student will receive an "F" on the transcript | "F" on the transcript |
Students who wish to drop a class must meet with their counselor.
