Orchestra 11th / 12th Grade

Prerequisite: 9th / 10th Orchestra 

Fee: $40 fee if using a school instrument

Course Description: A yearlong course with one credit per semester. Classes will include rehearsal of concert music and development of advanced string technique as well as instruction in the basic elements of music theory, music history, improvisation, arrangement, and ear training. Grading will be based on required lessons and playing tests.

Required performances include scheduled concerts, State Large Group Contest, and graduation ceremonies. All styles of music including classical, jazz and popular music will be performed. Also available but not required are All-State auditions, solo/ensemble contest, and honor festival participation.
