Concert Choir

Grades: 9th / 10th / 11th / 12th

Prerequisite: None

Course Description: This is a yearlong course, receiving 1 credit per semester. The teaching of basic elements of music, including pitch and rhythm and appreciation of various styles, will be incorporated into class rehearsal along with understanding and improving correct vocal techniques. Grading will be based on required lessons, performance, and written tests over material covered in class. There will be two required performances per semester. Other opportunities available (not required) will be All-State, State Solo, Small Ensemble Contest, Swing Choir (by audition), and Honor Choir Festivals (by recommendation).
