AP Physics

Grades: 11th / 12th Only 

Prerequisite: Completion of Algebra II 

Course Description: This full-year course is a faster-paced and more in-depth study of physics, including mechanics (forces, energy, and motion), circular motion, waves, and electricity. The emphasis in this class is on developing physical principles through laboratory activities and applying these principles and mathematical models to solve problems. The curriculum is intended to prepare students to take the AP Physics 1 exam if they so choose. A successful grade on this exam may allow colleges to award credit to incoming freshmen for the first semester of algebra-based physics.

(Offered every other year. Will be offered 2023-2024 school year).
