Course Description: Beginning Foods and Nutrition is a one-credit course for any 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade student. This course has been designed to help students comprehend the impact of food on their lives as well as the diet/wellness relationship. The focus will be on understanding basic nutrition, becoming a competent consumer, and developing food preparation and meal planning skills.
Completion of this class is required before enrolling in the Culinary Arts program at the DMACC Hunziker Center. Articulation Agreement is available with DMACC
