Advanced Algebra II

Semester: 
Fall and Spring

Prerequisite: Algebra I & Geometry 

 

Course Description: Credit may be earned on a semester basis. Two semesters of credit are necessary for admission to many colleges. Topics covered are sequences & functions, polynomials and rational functions, complex numbers & rational exponents, exponential functions & equations, transformations of functions, Trigonometry, and statistical inferences. Algebra II is the third course in the college pathway and is a prerequisite for Precalculus, Probability & Statistics, and Computer Programing.  This class will be faster paced and more challenging than Algebra 2 offered at the high school.  It is recommended that a student enrolling in this course earned an average of 2.5 or better in Geometry and Algebra 1.  Teacher recommendations may be considered to place kids in this course.
