Exploration of Culinary Arts

Prerequisite: Foods and Nutrition
Course Description: Culinary Arts is a one-credit course for any 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th-grade student that has already successfully completed Beginning Foods. This course continues the exploration of the culinary world! Students will develop advanced food preparation skills that could lead to a career in the food industry. Food technology, trends, marketing, nutrition/wellness issues, global eating habits are explored and the various careers available in the industry.
Completion of this class is recommended before enrolling in the Culinary Arts program at the DMACC Hunziker Center. Articulation Agreement is available with DMACC
