Considerations:  This is a full year course broken into 2 one semester one credit classes.

Course Description:  This course focuses on building the foundation of necessary skills needed in English in order to be successful throughout high school. This course has a heavy emphasis on grammar skills, composition (writing), literature, and public speaking. Students write and speak to demonstrate, to inform, and to persuade; for some projects, students gather information through research. The writing process (draft, edit, revise, polish) is emphasized. This course also includes independent reading.
