DMACC Survey of the Animal Industry

Prerequisite: Students in grades 10-12
Course Description: Veterinary Science introduces students to the scientific principles applied to animal care, health, and production. Students will study a variety of species of food animals including cattle, swine, sheep, and goats and other small animals. This course will cover units including: management, reproduction, genetics, nutrition, selection and evaluation, processing and meats, and distribution of animal products. Students will enroll and receive DMACC college credit for this class.
