AP US History

Fall and Spring

Prerequisite: Juniors and Seniors who completed AP Geography. 

Course Description: AP US History is a class that surveys the political, economic, social, and cultural development from the latter half of the 19th century to the present. This course examines the important issues, individuals, and events from this time period and is designed so that students gain an understanding and appreciation of how the past and present are connected. Through a variety of learning opportunities, students will develop their skills in critical thinking, historical analysis, reflection, evaluation, problem-solving, and decision making that can be applied to past, present, and future events.

Students who earn a “3” on the end of course exam will earn college credit at many colleges and universities around the country.
